Medicare

Medicare provides a rebate of $53.80 per consultation for patients referred to a Dietitian by their Doctor on a Chronic Disease Management Plan (formerly Enhanced Primary Care Plan). Your doctor must develop the plan prior to your appointment for you to be eligible for this rebate. Please bring a copy of your plan with you to your appointment to enable you to claim your rebate. A gap fee of $20 is payable at the time of your appointment.

 

Private Health Rebates

Most private health funds provide rebates for visits to Dietitians. The rebate depends on your level of cover; contact your health care provider to check your entitlements.

Department of Veteran Affairs Provider (DVA)

Better You Nutrition is a provider for the Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA). Gold Cardholders will not require payment for consults. Home visits are available if required. If you are eligible, please see your doctor for a referral before seeing the Dietitian. 

 

Cancellation Policy

At least 24hrs notice is required for all cancellations or rescheduling of your appointments. Failure to attend an appointment is unfair to other patients and takes up the Dietitian’s time unnecessarily. A cancellation fee of 100% of the fee may be charged for missed appointments or appointments cancelled or rescheduled with less than the minimum notice. Cancellation fees exist to ensure all appointment times are kept available for clients who need them.
